WCC Hosts IMF Team to Discuss Public Sector Salary Harmonization

The Wages and Compensation Commission (WCC) welcomed a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to its new Brookfields office on February 12, 2025, for discussions on public sector salary harmonization.

WCC Chairman, Hon. Alpha Osman Timbo, described the IMF as a “critical and permanent partner.” He also praised support from the Ministry of Finance and the Accountant General’s Department.

Dr. Ilara Mahdi from the Ministry of Finance highlighted efforts to achieve a sustainable wage bill and address disparities.

Head of IMF delegation, Mr. Paolo Dudine, discussed balancing financing constraints with Sierra Leone’s development needs, sharing lessons from other countries.

WCC CEO, Mr. David W.S. Banya, reaffirmed WCC’s commitment to building an efficient and equitable pay system.

The meeting included participation from senior officials from WCC and the Ministry of Finance.
